VINTAGE TIMEX-CLASSIC CHROME PLATED- SOLD!!






VINTAGE TIMEX-CLASSIC CHROME PLATED-
LARGE DATE MEN WATCH - 35mm excluding crown that could be used daily or for special occasions.

This manual wind watch is completely chrome plated with a silver dial(original dial) signed TIMEX, numbers are in silver tone, on its back says; TIMEX, stainless steel back, it has a stainless steel expandable band (spring band).At six o'clock,the code printed number 26570 2572.The last two numbers (all the way on the right) correspond to the year, 72 is made in 1972, etc. The next two numbers, moving leftward, are the movement number. The first five numbers are the catalog/model number.








This watch is in good cosmetic condition.Crystal has some scratches due to normal use but cannot be seen by normal situation.

Telling the date on some Timex watches

Lots and lots of questions on this. Timex, fortunately, is one of the few makers which left a code allowing identification of the watch.

Timex had a code. The code is printed on dial in very small numbers above six o' clock. The last two numbers (all the way on the right) correspond to the year, 65 is made in 1965, etc. The next two (or sometimes three) numbers, moving leftward, are the movement number. The first four numbers are the catalog/model number.

Personally I just like the fact that there are tiny moving parts in there that are working in conjunction with each other in order to precisely keep time.
